Vincent Giannotti, a resident of Tecumseh, Ontario, who dedicated his time to crafting detailed dollhouses for ill children, has passed away following a five-year fight against cancer. Despite his health struggles, Giannotti, aged 74, remained focused on completing his 50th miniature house with the help of loved ones until his last days.

His daughter, Jackie Amaro, shared how Giannotti involved his family in his projects up to his final moments, recalling a special memory of him allowing her to use tools for the first time. Giannotti embarked on this hobby during the pandemic and began donating the dollhouses to youngsters battling health issues after being diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer that later spread to his bones.

A plumber and project manager by profession, Giannotti found joy in working with his hands, inspiring elementary school students in LaSalle to start a woodworking club. His altruism and craftsmanship left a lasting impact on those around him, with his daughters, Jackie and Natalie Giannotti, emphasizing his positive influence on others.

In a heartfelt audio recording shared by his daughters, Giannotti’s words of encouragement and gratitude resonate, highlighting his appreciation for life and the people in it. Natalie expressed how completing his final dollhouse brought him solace and a sense of purpose, showing his resilience and determination even in the face of adversity.

Remembered as a compassionate and inspiring figure, Giannotti’s legacy extends beyond his woodworking skills to his love for family, hobbies like swing dancing and poetry, and his genuine care for others. Natalie described him as a beacon of love and a natural leader who valued everyone’s contributions, leaving a profound impact on all who knew him.
