Alongside this, Canada has promising chances for gold in short track speed skating, with snowboarding sensation Mark McMorris aiming for his fourth consecutive Olympic medal.

Let’s begin with a rundown of the potential medal opportunities for Canada on Wednesday:

In snowboarding, Mark McMorris and Cam Spalding will compete in the men’s slopestyle final at 5:20 a.m. ET. McMorris, a veteran in the sport, is seeking to improve upon his three bronze medals and secure his fourth Olympic podium finish. Despite a concussion setback earlier in the Olympics, McMorris showed strong form in the slopestyle qualifying round. The men’s final run is scheduled for 6:16 a.m. ET.

Additionally, Canada will be represented by two athletes in the women’s snowboard slopestyle final following a postponement due to adverse weather conditions. Laurie Blouin and Juliette Pelchat will compete, with the final run set for 9:26 a.m. ET.

In freestyle skiing, Marion Thenault will participate in the women’s aerials final at 8 a.m. ET. Thenault, a seasoned athlete, will be aiming to build on her past successes in the sport.

Later in the day, the short track events will feature the women’s relay final at 3 p.m. ET and the men’s 500m final at 3:32 p.m. ET. Canadian skaters, including Will Dandjinou, Steven Dubois, and Maxime Laoun, will be vying for top honors in the fast-paced competitions.

On the ice, the men’s hockey quarterfinals will see Canada face off against Czechia at 10:40 a.m. ET. Canada, led by star forward Nathan MacKinnon, is gearing up for a competitive match following their impressive performance in the group stage.

Furthermore, curling action will see Canada taking on Italy in both the men’s and women’s events, while alpine skiing will present American standout Mikaela Shiffrin with her final chance to secure a medal in the women’s slalom event.

As the competition heats up, fans can expect thrilling performances across various disciplines at the Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina.
