The Winter Olympics of 2026 in northern Italy will kick off in exactly 100 days from Wednesday with the opening ceremony at the renowned San Siro Stadium in Milan.

Here are 10 Canadian athletes to watch over the upcoming months as they take part in their respective global competitions and hone their skills for a shot at the Olympic podium this February.

Will Dandjinou (short track speed skating): Canada excelled as the top short track nation globally last season, securing 37 medals, including 21 gold, across the six World Tour stops to claim the team title. Dandjinou, standing at six-foot-three, emerged as Canada’s standout star, clinching eight individual victories on the World Tour to secure his first overall title. As he prepares for his Olympic debut, Dandjinou has already triumphed in four out of six individual events this season.

Homan’s team has been dominant, winning over 90% of their games last season and claiming both Grand Slam titles this season.
