Canadian Para nordic skier Brittany Hudak, a seasoned athlete with over a decade of experience on the global stage, is gearing up for a grueling challenge at the upcoming Paralympics in Italy. Despite facing her longest-lasting injury, Hudak is preparing for a demanding schedule of six events in just nine days.
Following a knee injury in 2024, Hudak had to adapt her training routine and put in extensive effort to recover. Battling a Patellofemoral pain syndrome, a chronic overuse injury common in long-term skiers, Hudak shifted to a more strength-focused training program. With the support of a dedicated team including a physiotherapist, strength coach, and massage therapist, she has been diligently working towards full fitness.
Hudak’s perseverance paid off in the 2025-26 Para biathlon World Cup season, where she secured impressive results despite her ongoing injury struggles. Her mental fortitude and commitment to rehabilitation have not gone unnoticed, with head coach Brian McKeever praising her proactive approach to recovery.
As a key member of Canada’s Paralympic delegation and a three-time Paralympian, Hudak is aiming for her fourth Paralympic medal at the Tesero Cross-Country Skiing Stadium.
