In a thrilling match at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, the Vancouver Goldeneyes staged an impressive comeback against the Boston Fleet, securing a 4-3 victory. Claire Thompson, Sophie Jaques, and Izzy Daniel netted consecutive goals in the third period to secure the win for the expansion team.
Boston’s Jamie Lee Rattray opened the scoring early in the third period, giving her team a 3-1 lead. However, Vancouver fought back with goals from Thompson and Jaques, including a power-play goal. Daniel then sealed the win for the Goldeneyes, who were also backed by solid goaltending from Emerance Maschmeyer.
Tereza Vanišová and Michela Cava contributed assists on Thompson’s goal, while Daniel and Hannah Miller played crucial roles in Jaques’ goal. Olivia Mobley scored first for Boston, but Miller quickly responded to tie the game for Vancouver. Susanna Tapani gave Boston a brief lead before the Goldeneyes’ comeback.
The game saw a balanced second period after Boston dominated shots in the first. Aerin Frankel made 17 saves for the Fleet, while Maschmeyer made 24 saves for the Goldeneyes. This victory marked Vancouver’s first win in six away games during the 2025-26 PWHL Takeover Tour.
