The Toronto Blue Jays have included Bo Bichette, one of their top hitters, on the lineup for the World Series showdown against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bichette, who was sidelined since September 6 due to a left knee sprain, has been listed on the team’s 26-man roster for the best-of-seven series.

The Blue Jays disclosed that Bichette will take on the role of second base and will bat in the cleanup position. Additionally, outfielders Myles Straw and Davis Schneider were given starting positions, with Nathan Lukes, Addison Barger, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa available as bench options.

In recent days, Bichette has shown progress by engaging in base running, defensive drills, and batting practice. The team also added Ty France to the 26-man roster, replacing Yariel Rodriguez and Joey Loperfido.

During a media session on Thursday, Bichette expressed his readiness to contribute in any capacity required by the team. He appeared more comfortable during practice, showcasing agility in fielding and a smooth swing in the batting cage.

The Blue Jays opted for a lineup featuring 14 position players and 12 pitchers for the Fall Classic, deviating from the 13-13 mix used in the previous ALCS victory. Bichette, a two-time AL hits leader, finished the regular season with a .311 batting average, ranking second in the league.

Looking ahead, Bichette, whose contract with the Blue Jays is nearing its end, aims to support the team to the best of his abilities without the pressure of being a hero. Meanwhile, the Dodgers made adjustments to their roster, including the addition of right-handers Edgardo Henriquez and Will Klein, with Clayton Kershaw, a three-time Cy Young winner, making his World Series roster debut. Kershaw, who plans to retire after this season, did not feature in the NL Championship Series but is set to make an appearance in the upcoming series against the Blue Jays.
