Canadian tennis sensation Félix Auger-Aliassime has decided to withdraw from the ongoing Moselle Open, citing a knee injury. This move, aimed at safeguarding his health, potentially jeopardizes his chance to secure a spot in the prestigious ATP Finals. The 25-year-old athlete, hailing from Montreal, made this decision ahead of the ATP 250 event in Metz, France.

Auger-Aliassime’s withdrawal follows an intense journey to the final of the Paris Masters, culminating in a defeat to top-ranked player Jannik Sinner in a closely contested match. Despite battling through tough matches and tiebreakers, he now finds himself ranked No. 8 in the ATP standings, surpassing Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti in the race for the final singles slot in the upcoming ATP Finals in Turin, Italy.

Meanwhile, Musetti is currently competing in the Hellenic Championship in Athens and must secure a victory in the tournament to reclaim the ATP Finals entry from Auger-Aliassime. With an impressive record of 48-22 and three titles this year, Auger-Aliassime has made a remarkable comeback to the top eight rankings, marking his return after a significant period since April 10, 2023.
