Kendall Coyne Schofield led the way with two goals, and Nicole Hensley made 31 saves as Minnesota Frost defeated the Sceptres 5-1 in Toronto. Katy Knoll, Britta Curl-Salemme, and Grace Zumwinkle also found the net for Minnesota, with Taylor Heise contributing three assists.

Toronto’s lone goal came from Daryl Watts, assisted by Renata Fast. Elaine Chuli made 14 saves before being replaced by Raygan Kirk in the third period.

Knoll tied the game early on, and Curl-Salemme scored a remarkable goal with a unique angle shot. Zumwinkle added a power-play goal in the second period, while Coyne Schofield extended the lead with a late backhand goal.

Coyne Schofield sealed the win with an empty-net goal after Toronto pulled their goalie. Minnesota’s disciplined play and ability to convert chances stood out, while Toronto had more shots but struggled to beat Hensley.

The key moment was Coyne Schofield’s goal just before the second intermission. Watts reached a career milestone with her goal, joining elite company in the league.

Next, the Frost will face the Ottawa Charge, while the Sceptres will host the Seattle Torrent.
