The Las Vegas Raiders have terminated Pete Carroll’s contract after just one season. Despite high expectations, Carroll’s tenure resulted in a disappointing 3-14 record, including a 10-game losing streak. The team concluded the season with a victory over Kansas City.

Owner Mark Davis and minority owner Tom Brady will collaborate with general manager John Spytek to search for a new head coach. The focus may be on finding an offensive-minded coach to mentor the team’s young quarterback. Carroll, aged 74, previously achieved a Super Bowl title with the Seahawks and was the NFL’s oldest head coach.

Meanwhile, in Arizona, the Cardinals have parted ways with coach Jonathan Gannon after a tumultuous third season marked by injuries, blunders, and a series of noncompetitive losses following a promising start. The team suffered a devastating defeat against the Los Angeles Rams, marking their ninth consecutive loss and 14th defeat in 15 games.

The Cleveland Browns have also made a coaching change, dismissing Kevin Stefanski after six seasons. Stefanski, a two-time AP NFL Coach of the Year, guided the Browns to playoff appearances in 2020 and 2023. Despite winning their final two games, the Browns finished the season with a 5-12 record, culminating in Stefanski’s departure.

In Atlanta, Falcons owner Arthur Blank announced the dismissals of coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot in a letter to fans. Blank revealed plans for further organizational changes, including the recruitment of a new football president from outside the team. The new appointee will report directly to Blank and assume the role of head of football operations, replacing Greg Beadles.

The Falcons’ decision to part ways with Morris and Fontenot followed a 19-17 victory over the New Orleans Saints. Despite ending the season with four consecutive wins, the Falcons have not experienced a winning season or playoff appearance since 2017. Blank aims to revamp the team’s management structure in a bid to reverse their streak of eight consecutive losing seasons.
