Shania Twain and the mysterious masked band, Angine de Poitrine, both appeared on the renowned BBC TV program, Later… with Jools Holland, over the weekend. The Canadian country music star expressed her excitement about performing alongside the polka-dotted band during the show. Taking to Instagram, she shared, “It was an absolute delight to play You’re Still the One and my beloved Hank Williams classic, I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry, with [Jools Holland]. I even had the pleasure of meeting [Angine de Poitrine]!! My son Eja introduced me to their music, so you can imagine my thrill when I learned we would both be featured on the same Later… episode!”
The emerging Saguenay duo has seen a rapid surge in popularity throughout the year. Making their debut on Later…, guitarist and loop pedalist Khn and drummer Klek showcased their tracks Sarniezz and Fabienk from their recent album Vol. II, which has been nominated for the Polaris Music Prize.
Shania Twain, who recently revealed that her upcoming seventh album, Little Miss Twain, is set to release on July 24, delivered a stellar performance of her 1997 hit You’re Still the One and the Hank Williams classic I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry, accompanied by host Holland on the piano for both songs.
