Taylor Swift has emerged as the top artist on Spotify’s inaugural ranking of the most-streamed artists of all time, released on Thursday. Following closely behind is the Puerto Rican sensation Bad Bunny, who in 2025 claimed the title of the streaming platform’s most played artist of the year for the fourth time, surpassing Swift.
The rivalry between Swift and Bad Bunny has been a back-and-forth affair, with Swift holding the top spot in the previous two years, while Bad Bunny dominated from 2020 to 2023. Drake secures the third spot on Spotify’s list of most streamed artists, with The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Eminem, Kanye West, Travis Scott, BTS, Post Malone, Bruno Mars, J Balvin, Rihanna, Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Juice WRLD following suit.
Spotify did not disclose details about its data collection methods when questioned. In celebration of its 20th anniversary, Spotify also unveiled lists of its most streamed albums, songs, podcasts, and audiobooks.
Streaming constitutes a significant portion of revenue for the music industry, with 82% in the U.S. attributed to it, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. Founded in April 2006 in Sweden, Spotify reigns as the leading platform, commanding over 31% of the total market share and boasting 751 million users and 290 million subscribers across 184 markets.
Among Spotify’s top streamed albums of all time are Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti,” The Weeknd’s “Starboy,” Ed Sheeran’s “÷ (Deluxe),” Olivia Rodrigo’s “SOUR,” The Weeknd’s “After Hours,” SZA’s “SOS,” Post Malone’s “Hollywood’s Bleeding,” Taylor Swift’s “Lover,” Arctic Monkeys’ “AM,” Billie Eilish’s “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?,” Dua Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia,” and more.
The list of Spotify’s most streamed songs of all time includes tracks like The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” The Neighbourhood’s “Sweater Weather,” and others.
