Environment Canada warns that the frozen ground may cause water to accumulate on roads and low-lying areas.
Motorists are cautioned to avoid flooded roads and exercise caution around rivers, creeks, and culverts due to the potential for soft and slippery ground. Earlier on Tuesday, flood alerts were issued across the region, linked to the combination of increased rainfall and melting snow.
Areas prone to flooding include Drayton, Grand Valley, Conestogo, St. Jacobs, West Montrose, New Hamburg, Ayr, Cambridge, Six Nations, Brant County, and the City of Brantford. The temperature soared to 18°C in Waterloo region on Tuesday, with an expected drop to 3°C overnight before climbing to 5°C on Wednesday. Looking ahead to Thursday, there is a chance of flurries with a high of 1°C.
