Midway through the ongoing Olympic events, Connor Hellebuyck continues to excel.

Reflecting on his performance after guiding the U.S. to victory over Germany in the round-robin stage, he humorously questioned, “Is there more than 100 percent?”

Expressing his satisfaction, Hellebuyck acknowledged the challenging conditions and his current state, stating, “I feel good out there.”

Hellebuyck’s standout performance in the preliminary rounds solidified his position as the starting goaltender for the U.S. team in Milan, leading the tournament with a remarkable .952 save percentage and sharing the best goals-against average of 1.00 with Canada’s Jordan Binnington.

The U.S. team recognizes Hellebuyck’s exceptional abilities, with forward Matt Boldy praising him as one of the world’s top goalies.

Having started two out of the three group-play games, Hellebuyck demonstrated his skills by stopping 40 of 42 shots faced against Latvia and Germany.

Despite stiff competition from Jeremy Swayman and Jake Oettinger, Hellebuyck’s consistent performance earned him the starting role.

With his impressive track record and recent form, Hellebuyck is confident ahead of the quarterfinals where the U.S. team will face the winner of Sweden versus Latvia.

Despite facing challenges in the NHL season, Hellebuyck’s Olympic performance remains exceptional, and his teammates rely on his expertise for a successful campaign.

Defenceman Zach Werenski highlighted Hellebuyck’s reliability and calming influence on the team’s defense.

As the U.S. advances to the quarterfinals after a strong showing, Hellebuyck’s role becomes even more crucial with tougher matchups on the horizon.

Team captain Auston Matthews emphasized Hellebuyck’s composure and consistency, praising him as one of the best in the world.
