Pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen is making a comeback with her latest 24-track album called “Day and Night,” scheduled for launch on September 18th. The unique double album will showcase 12 songs tailored for daytime listening and another 12 tunes perfect for a nighttime vibe. This release marks Jepsen’s first album since her 2023 hit record, “The Loveliest Time.”
As per an official statement, each segment of the album will exude its own distinctive atmosphere. The daytime tracks are described as having an “organic and raw” feel, incorporating live instruments and traces of ’70s-inspired psychedelic pop. On the other hand, the nighttime songs promise to be “exploratory and intense,” transitioning into a polished, synth-driven dance-pop realm.
Jepsen, known for her prowess in synth-pop and dance-pop genres, gained popularity with her 2015 album “Emotion,” featuring catchy ’80s-influenced tracks like “Run Away With Me” and “Your Type.”
The album will feature collaborations with established names who have previously worked with Jepsen. Notable contributors include Tavish Crowe, known for co-writing “Call Me Maybe,” Kyle Shearer, credited on tracks like “Julien” and “Psychedelic Switch,” Nate Cyphert, a producer on “The Loneliest Time” and other hits, and producer Cole M.G.N., who co-wrote and co-produced “So Right” and also happens to be Jepsen’s spouse.
A select group of CBC Music producers had an exclusive preview of the album last week, getting early access to the lead single “On Wires,” slated for release on Friday, June 26th.
