In the final showdown of the World Series, Blue Jays enthusiasts were riveted by the drama unfolding during Game 7, even though the team ultimately succumbed to the Los Angeles Dodgers in extra innings, narrowly missing out on a World Series victory. Rogers reported a record-breaking average viewership of 10.9 million in Canada for their broadcast of the game across Sportsnet, Sportsnet+, and Citytv, making it the most-watched Rogers telecast to date.

The Toronto-L.A. clash throughout the seven-game series garnered an average of 7.5 million Canadian viewers, with all seven World Series broadcasts becoming the most-viewed Blue Jays games ever. Despite securing victories in Game 1, Game 4, and Game 5 of the World Series, the Blue Jays fell short in the overall series against the Dodgers, losing 4-3.

Rogers Communications Inc. assumed full ownership of the Blue Jays in 2004 after acquiring a controlling interest in the franchise in 2000. The company also possesses the Rogers Centre stadium, previously known as SkyDome.

The World Series concluded Toronto’s third appearance in Major League Baseball’s premier championship event. Following their consecutive World Series triumphs in 1992 and 1993, the Blue Jays experienced a prolonged absence from the Fall Classic until this season. In contrast, the Dodgers clinched their ninth title by defeating the Blue Jays, with the victory marking their second consecutive championship after winning in 2024. The Dodgers also secured the title in the abbreviated 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Dodgers celebrated their 2025 World Series triumph with a championship parade in Los Angeles.
