Drake’s latest song, “Janice STFU,” from his most recent album “Iceman,” has claimed the number one spot on the prestigious Billboard Hot 100 chart, surpassing Michael Jackson. The renowned Toronto rapper now boasts a total of 14 chart-topping hits, establishing him as the solo male artist with the highest number of number one singles. Some of his previous chart-toppers include “One Dance,” “God’s Plan,” and “Nice For What,” while Michael Jackson’s hits like “Billie Jean” and “Beat It” have secured him 13 number one rankings.
“Janice STFU,” which features a sample from Swedish vocalist Lykke Li’s “I Follow Rivers,” amassed over 40.7 million official streams, 2.1 million radio airplay impressions, and 3,000 sales in the United States during the week of May 15-21, as reported by Billboard.
The music video for “Janice STFU” premiered during Drake’s fourth live-streamed episode of Iceman, where he surprised fans by announcing two additional albums, “Habibti” and “Maid of Honour,” to accompany “Iceman.” With a total of 42 tracks from “Iceman,” “Habibti,” and “Maid of Honour” all making it to the Hot 100, Drake has also achieved the milestone of having over 400 song entries on the chart over his career. Currently, Drake dominates the Hot 100 with nine songs in the top 10, with the only exception being Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” which has slipped to the fifth spot.
In a recent achievement, Billboard disclosed that Drake has set a new record by being the first artist to simultaneously top the Billboard 200 album chart with three albums.
