Hamilton native Alena Sharp revealed that she persevered through the LPGA Tour season despite a torn meniscus in her left knee. The 44-year-old golfer shared an image on Instagram from her hospital bed, showing a smile despite the injury sustained in July. Sharp managed to participate in five LPGA Tour events from August onwards, including the prestigious CPKC Women’s Open, Canada’s premier golf championship. Additionally, she competed in an Epson Tour event in August. Despite the challenging circumstances, the three-time Olympian refuses to blame the injury for her underwhelming performance this season. Sharp remains optimistic and aims to return to competitive play in 2026.
